Prevention of diabetic retinopathy

With Dr. Stephen Sinclair of Drexel University Medical School, Dr. Luttrull will be publishing the first report ever of effective and safe foveal laser treatment for diabetic macular edema in patients with perfect 20/20 vision. This important study advocates early and preventative treatment of diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Luttrull is one of the first advocates of preventive treatment of diabetic retinopathy, as prevention is the very best way to prevent vision loss and the need for more complicated, risky, and expensive treatments. This study will be published in the journal RETINA.
